The House
Welcome to Casa Rana Verde! Located in Ojochal, Costa Rica, this 3-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home provides easy access to Costa Rica’s best nature, beaches, and activities. Nestled in the jungle, the 2 acre property of Casa Rana Verde is home to a variety of fruit trees, flowers, monkeys, birds, and more. With air conditioned rooms, indoor and outdoor kitchens and living spaces, a large office/bonus room, infinity edge pool, and three levels of terraces, this house is an ideal vacation spot for those hoping to experience Costa Rican wildlife from the comfort of a safe, beautiful home. The majority of the artwork in the house is from Costa Rica, including prints of David Artavia’s work, indigenous Boruca masks, and photographs of Costa Rican birds.
Originally designed as a three-unit dwelling, the house is perfect for multi-generational families, parents with adult children, or several couples, with room to spread out both indoors and out. High-speed internet is available throughout, and cell phone service is available and reliable. There is also parking for four vehicles with two spaces covered.
Outdoor Living
The infinity pool is part of the outdoor living space and is a refreshing way to cool off after a day at the beach or hiking in the jungle. In addition to the pool, there is an outdoor kitchen, gas grill, ample comfortable seating, and an outdoor shower near the pool. Soak in the pool while you marvel at the expansive views of the ocean and fiery sunsets.
The main outdoor terrace is graced by a grand, live-edge wood table that seats ten, oversized comfortable chairs, and an outdoor, private bathroom with views of the jungle trees. Ceiling fans and ocean breezes ensure comfort even on the warmest days. With terraces on three levels there is plenty of space for guests to spread out for conversations, remote work, relaxation, and dining.
Main Level
On the main level is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you will need to prepare meals and snacks. The kitchen looks out on the garden and front entrance. A wide bar area is perfect for eating, and seats four people.
The living room features two comfortable couches and a TV that connects to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and other streaming services. There is also a table overlooking the pool which seats three, and a storage closet equipped with yoga mats, hand weights, and a cooler for guests’ use.
A main level bedroom has air conditioning, a Queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower.
Top Level
The top/second floor, accessed by a grand, outdoor tiled stairway leads to a shared deck with separate doors for the two second floor bedrooms. Each bedroom has air conditioning, a Queen bed, work desk, and an ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. Hair dryers can be found in each bathroom.
The upstairs bedrooms share a large, covered terrace above the pool with expansive ocean views, and outdoor seating. The ocean-side bedroom features an additional private terrace that looks out over the jungle canopy.
There is an outdoor kitchenette with a sink, coffee maker, refrigerator, and kitchenware, perfect for preparing breakfast, drinks, or snacks.
Lower Level
The lowest level of the house is a private office with a large worktable, ensuite bathroom, and screened windows. This bonus room is perfect for getting away to attend a work meeting, answer emails, play with the kids, or work on a puzzle together. This room has an outdoor, blue-tiled shower facing the privacy of the jungle.
